Permanent Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh, leaders of Long An province introduces investors the potential of tourism exploitation in Can Duoc and Can Giuoc districts, especially Rach Cat Fort and Long An International Port.
Visiting Rach Cat Fort, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh is kindly interested in officers and soldiers’ health, life and results of performing their tasks at the Artillery Platoon 105 (Rach Cat Fort), Advisory Division, Military Command of Long An province. At the same time, the provincial leaders introduces investors the tourism potential of this destination.
Accordingly, Rach Cat Fort in Long Huu Dong commune, Can Duoc district has a strategic position where it is the combination of two rivers of Vam Co and Rach Cat to flow into Soai Rap river. Therefore, French built military fortress here in 1903 because they feared that warships of British, German, Dutch, etc. might enter Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh city) along Soai Rap River. At that time, Rach Cat Fort was considered as the earliest and most solid fortress built in Indochina.
With the historical value of ancient European fortress architecture and the mangrove ecosystem, this is a place with great potential for tourism. If Rach Cat Fort is interested in investing on this, it promises to be an interesting destination for tourists. Therefore, Long An is calling for socialization of tourism investment in Rach Cat Fort.

Besides, the delegation also surveyed the river route from Rach Cat Fort to Long An International Port in Tan Tap commune, Can Giuoc district. The port has an area of 147 hectares, it is invested and built into 3 phases with a total investment capital of up to VND 9,000 billion, including 7 wharves.
It is expected that this will be one of the largest seaports in the Southern region after being completed in 2023. The port is not only valuable for trading, transporting goods but aslo one of the attractive destinations, especially cruise ships.
Along with the tourism destinations in the province, Rach Cat Fort and Long An International Port will connect to become two tourist destinations contributing to the expansion and development of Long An tourism potential./.
